It's summer now over in my side of the pond and the heat is rising each day. With temperatures reaching as high as 90's and the sunburn and exhaustion of the day already on top of your stress meter, what better way to cool off with a nice cold smoothie/milkshake? I've put together a list of my favorite cold beverages to make on a normal day, their Delicious, and better yet Healthy and Organic! From Banana Smoothie to Mango Smoothie I have fruits from the whole spectrum of colors and flavors, and at least one of them surely will satisfy your taste buds. For today's post I will be introducing you to some tasty, and easily made smoothies:
Banana Milkshake and Mango-Banana

Banana Smoothie
What you'll need:1 USDA Organic Banana ( or more depending on how much you want to make)
2-3 Tablespoons of Organic Cane Sugar (again more/less depending on your sweet tolerance)
1 cup of milk (could be more or less, i don't usually measure how much I add in)
Handful of Ice Cubes
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract (organic or not)
Directions: Add in the Ice to the bottom of your Mixer Cut or break up pieces of a banana and put them over the ice Add the Milk to the mixture Add the Cane Sugar Add The Vanilla Extract ( for extra flavor, trust me it's delicious) Blend all the Ingredients together for at least 30 Seconds or until your desired consistency. Voila, you've got a easy, basic, refreshing and healthy drink to cool you off or power you up!
Mango-Banana SmoothieWhat you'll need:
1 USDA Organic Banana ( or any type, i just prefer organic because its healthier)
1/2 TBSP- 1 TBSP of Organic Cane Sugar ( depending on how sweet you're mango is, you may not even need any sugar)
1 Organic/ Home Grown Mango ( I got my mangoes from a some family relatives tree down in Miami when i went down to visit)
1/2-1 Cup of Milk ( organic again, though it doesn't matter whether is 2% or Whole, but don't get 'light')
Handful of ice
Directions: Add in the cubed ice in your blender. Cut the banana and Mango pieces into cubes or slices and put them in a bowl together, it tastes better when the fruits absorb each others juices. Sounds odd.... anyways, at this point add the fruit into your blender and mix well, into a thick puree consistency. Taste the mixture, Sometimes you don't need to add anything else from here. If you think you need the other ingredients, add your milk here. Slowly add a little at a time and blend, taste each time to be sure you have just the right amount. When you finished adding the milk, if you think it is perfect don't add the sugar, if you feel it tastes a little bitter or off, just as you added the milk add little-by-little of sugar and blend. And now you've got a refreshing, and tasty healthy beverage !
Coming up in the next addition of Healthy Easy-to Make beverages : Avocado-Berry Blast and Strawberry Banana Shake
